Sodium lauryl sulfoacetate seems similar to Sodium lauryl sulfate, however, these two molecules are quite different from each other. Sodium lauryl sulfoacetate is a molecule of a larger size. Large molecules of surfactants have a more moderate, gentle and non-irritating effect on the skin, since they can not penetrate through it. In contrast, Sodiumium lauryl sulfate (SLS) - has a small molecule size, and is capable of penetration through the skin, which can increase the occurrence of skin irritation.
